FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are your sessions held? I photograph in my home or your home. My portrait "studio" comes with me.

Do you use natural light or lighting gear? Yes. 😊 One of the reasons for hiring a professional photographer is because good photographers understand how to use light. Regardless of where I'm shooting, I analyze the situation and see if additional light is needed.

How long do your sessions last? Plan for 1–2 hours per session. My photo sessions aren’t rushed. You're paying for photos taken by someone who has spent countless hours learning her art; otherwise, you could just snap a photo on your camera phone and be done. Some sessions will be quick. Others might take a little more finessing, especially when younger children are involved or if I need to set up lighting equipment. This should be an enjoyable experience, and if you’re comfortable, your photos will reflect that.

When do you photograph newborns? Anytime. As parents, we don't always have time (or energy) to schedule a newborn session during the first week of our baby's life. I love photographing babies. Period.

Are family members included in newborn sessions? Absolutely!

Do you use props? I do not use props; however, if you have your heart set on something, especially a family heirloom, let me know.

Can I choose if my photos are color or black and white? No. I process each photo individually and determine whether I feel it should be color or black and white.

How do I book a session with you? As a hobbyist photographer, I only photograph people I know. Contact me directly.

Where are you located? I’m based in Orem, Utah.
